dc.description.abstract-translated	Luděk Pik was a social-democratic politician in the first half of 20th century, who had very important impact on transformation of Pilsen into mod- ern city with advanced infrastructure and bureaucracy. He was a mayor of the city from 1919–1938 and he dedicated mentionable amount of time and effort to serve the city as good as he could. The aim of the study is to point out his historical legacy and describe Pik’s life chapters which had influence on his decision making.	en
