dc.description.abstractTato diplomová práce pojednává o otrokářské instituci ve Spojených státech od příchodu otroků na americký kontinent až do 19. století, kdy bylo během občanské války zrušeno otroctví. Je zde nastíněn každodenní život otroka v USA, vztah mezi otroky a jejich pány i abolicionistické snahy. Také je zde vysvětleno, proč k zániku otrokářského systému došlo. Významnou osobností v otázce zrušení otroctví sehrál především Abraham Lincoln, prezident Spojených států, kterému je v práci též věnován prostor. Nejsou zde opomenuty ani různé emancipační změny, které nastaly po ukončení občanské války během rekonstrukce Jihu.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThis diplome thesis deals with the slave institution in the United States from the arrival of slaves on the American continent until the 19th century, when slavery was abolished during the Civil War. It outlines the daily life of a slave in the United States, the relationship between slaves and their masters, and abolitionist efforts. It also explains why the slave system ceased to exist. Abraham Lincoln, the President of the United States, played a key role in abolishing slavery. The various emancipatory changes that occurred after the end of the Civil War during the reconstruction of the South are not left out either.en
