dc.description.abstractBakalářská práce se zabývá volbami do Kongresu Spojených států amerických, které se konaly v listopadu 2010. Práce pohlíží na volby pohledem teorie volebního chování, kterou popsal Anthony Downs ve své knize An Economic Theory of Democracy. Práce zkoumala volby optikou Downsovy studie, zjišťovala, zda byl ekonomický blahobyt USA a občanů vyšší po volbách 2010, než ve volebním období 2009-2011. Práce se dále zabývala tím, zda a do jaké míry byly naplněny předvolebních sliby dnešních členů Kongresu. Nakonec práce interpretovala výsledky voleb do Kongresu optikou Downsovy teorie a vyhodnotila, zda přesun volební podpory ve volbách znamenal racionalitu voličů.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThis bachelor´s thesis is concerned with the November 2010 Congressional Elections in the United States of America. The thesis analyses the elections from the point of view of the theory of electoral behaviour. This theory was introduced by Anthony Downs, and it is described in his book An Economic Theory of Democracy. This thesis observed whether the USA and citizens received the higher economic well-being after the 2010 elections, or in the 2009-2011 election period. This thesis focused on whether and how much the promises in elections programs of those who currently have a seat in the Congress have been fulfilled. Finally, this thesis interpreted the elections results through Downs´ view and interpreted whether the real results of the 2010 elections prove the rationality of the voters.en
