Pozemní komunikační stanice na bázi SDR pro podporu misí

Abstract

Technologické, vědecké, vzdělávací nebo radioamatérské mise dnes vel¬mi populárních malých satelitů platformy CubeSat vyžadují několikrát denně aktivní povelování a stahování dat pomocí pozemních komunikačních stanic. Od roku 2009 provozujeme stanici pro operování satelitů také na Západočeské univerzitě v Plzni, ze které již více než 5 let řídíme český technologický nanosatelit VZLUSAT-1 a od roku 2022 také nanosatelit VZLUSAT-2. Různorodost komunikačních systémů současných malých satelitů však klade vysoké nároky na technické vybavení pozemních stanic, pokud mají sloužit zároveň více různým misím. Proto kromě dedikovaných hardwaro¬vých transceiverů využíváme i softwarově definovaná rádia (tzv. SDR), na kterých lze snadněji implementovat různé nestandardní komunikační formáty nebo rychleji analy¬zovat složitou situaci po sdíleném startu velkého počtu malých satelitů najednou. Tyto sdílené starty významně snižují finanční náklady na vynesení satelitů do vesmíru, pro operátory však představují v úvodní fázi aktivace jejich satelitů nejistotu přesné pozice a jejich vzájemného rozlišení a zvýšené riziko vzájemných interferencí.

The technological, scientific, educational or amateur radio missions of today's very popular small satellites of the CubeSat platform require active command and data download several times a day using ground communication stations. Since 2009, we have also operated a satellite operating station at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, from which we have been controlling the Czech technology nanosatellite VZLUSAT-1 for more than 5 years and from 2022 also the nanosatellite VZLUSAT-2. However, the variety of communication systems of current small satellites places high demands on the technical equipment of ground stations, if they are to serve several different missions at the same time. Therefore, in addition to dedicated hardware transceivers, we also use software-defined radios (so-called SDRs), on which it is easier to implement various non-standard communication formats or to more quickly analyze a complex situation after the shared launch of a large number of small satellites at once. These shared launches significantly reduce the financial costs of launching satellites into space, but for operators, in the initial phase of activating their satellites, they represent the uncertainty of the exact position and their mutual discrimination and an increased risk of mutual interference.
