dc.description.abstract-translatedA novel approach to designing antenna systems for television receivers is proposed. The antenna system is embedded into the receiver to make the television receiver partly independent on the roof antenna system. For this purpose, it employs diversity techniques to cope with lower power ratios due to another form of propagation. For not to increase the manufacturing costs of the receiver, conducting structures inside the appliance can be exploited. It is accomplished by utilizing the method of characteristic modes (modal analysis) and using antenna elements as couplers. An example antenna is analyzed and the results are verified by the full-wave simulator.en
