dc.description.abstractPráce má za úkol popsat příčiny, které vedly k pádu Cařihradu, kdysy největšího města středověku. Snaží se popsat příčiny oslabování Byzance a naopak vzestup Osmanské říše. Hlavní část práce se věnuje samotnému obléhání, akcím a protiakcím útočníků i obránců. V poslední části krátce popisuje osudy významných osobností, které se na obraně podíleli. Rovněž nastiňuje další vývoj města, tentokrát jako centra Osmanské říšecs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe work aims to describe the causes that led to the fall of Constantinople, once the largest city in the Middle Ages. It tries to describe the reasons for the weakening of the Byzantine and rise of Ottoman empires. The main part of the work is dedicated to the siege itself, action and counteraction of both attackers and defenders. In the last section briefly describes the fate of prominent personalities who participated in the defense. It also outlines the further development of the city, this time as the center of the Ottoman Empireen
