dc.description.abstractTato bakalářská práce se zabývá americkou invazí na Grenadu a zaměřuje se na její příčiny, provedení a důsledky pro region. Invaze, k níž došlo v říjnu 1983, následovala po dvou levicových převratech na Grenadě, jejichž výsledkem byla poprava tehdejšího grenadského premiéra Maurice Bishopa. Prostřednictvím analýzy tato práce odhaluje skutečné důvody americké invaze, a posuzuje její důsledky pro region, Spojené státy a Grenadu samotnou. V první kapitole se věnuji vymezení Grenady v rámci geografických podmínek a historického kontextu před invazí. V druhé kapitole navazuji mezinárodními reakcemi na levicové převraty na Grenadě. Ve třetí kapitole rozebírám zahraniční politiku Ronalda Reagana a hlavní důvody pro provedení invaze. Ve čtvrté kapitole pokračuji přípravou, průběhem a výsledky samotné operace. A v rámci poslední kapitoly se věnuji mezinárodním reakcím na americkou invazi a dopadům invaze na Grenadu, Spojené státy a Karibik.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThis bachelor's thesis examines the American invasion of Grenada, focusing on its causes, execution and implications for the region. The invasion, which took place in October 1983, followed two leftist coups in Grenada that resulted in the execution of then Grenadian Prime Minister Maurice Bishop. Through analysis, this thesis reveals the real reasons for the American invasion, and assesses its implications for the region, the United States, and Grenada itself. In the first chapter, I outline Grenada's geography and historical context prior to the invasion. In the second chapter, I then follow up with international responses to the leftist coups in Grenada. In the third chapter, I discuss Ronald Reagan's foreign policy and the main reasons for carrying out the invasion. In the fourth chapter, I continue with the preparation, execution, and results of the operation itself. And in the final chapter, I cover the international reactions to the American invasion and the impact of the invasion on Grenada, the United States, and the Caribbean.en
