dc.description.abstractTato bakalářská práce je soustředěna na sci-fi román Duna od Franka Herberta. Velká část příběhu tohoto románu je zasazena na planetě Arrakis, kde protagonista, Paul Atreides, musí projít procesem akulturace do cizí kultury. Práce se zabývá hlavně s porovnáním rozdílných důležitých aspektů románu. Prvním z prozkoumaný aspektů je otázka kulturních dimenzí. Práce vysvětluje co jsou zač a následně je využije v porovnání dvou kultur, které se nacházejí v románu. Poté práce prozkoumá systémy organizace společnosti typické pro každou ze dvou dříve zmíněných kultur, analyzuje je a porovná je s jejich protějšky z reálného světa. Finální část práce se zabývá s faktory, které by potenciálně mohly ovlivnit kulturu. Tato práce zvolí dva hlavní faktory, životní prostředí a náboženství, a prozkoumá jejich možnosti pro ovlivňování kultury.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThis bachelor thesis focuses on the science fiction novel Dune by Frank Herbert. A large part of the novel's story is set on the planet Arrakis, where the protagonist, Paul Atreides, has to undergo to process of acculturation into a foreign culture. The thesis deals mainly with the comparison of different important aspects of the novel. First of the aspects examined is the question of cultural dimensions. The thesis explains what they are and afterwards uses them to compare the two cultures present in the novel. Furthermore, the thesis looks into the systems of social organization typical for each of the aforementioned cultures, analyzes them and compares them to their counterparts from the real world. The final part of the thesis deals with factors, which might potentially influence a culture. This thesis chooses two main factors, environment and religion, and explores their possibilities of meddling with a culture.en
