dc.description.abstractPráce se věnuje analýze literární a mecenášské činnosti Lady Mary Sidney Herbert, hraběnky z Pembroke. V první části představuje alžbětinskou literární kulturu a definuje pozici, kterou v jejím rámci zastávaly ženy. Dále se věnuje formám literárního mecenášství, které je spojeno s produkcí dobové literatury. Zaměřuje se také na význam a specifika dobové korespondence. Druhá část práce je věnována Lady Mary Sidney Herbert. Představuje jednak její osobní život, zejména však její literární a mecenášskou činnost. Ty jsou posléze podrobeny analýze.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThis thesis deals with the analysis of Lady Mary Sidney Herbert's, Countess of Pembroke, literary and patronage work. The first part of the thesis introduces Elizabethan literary culture and defines the role of women in it. Furthermore it deals with different forms of literary patronage that is connected to the production of literature in that time period. The thesis also focuses on the meaning and the specifics of the correspondence of that period. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to Lady Mary Sidney Herbert. It deals with her personal life and it analysis her literary and patronage activities.en
